My trip had the exact experiences I love! Abbie set me up in a location where I could have a little bit of everything, which is what I wanted. Not only could I park the rental car in a safe place but I could also walk right out into great restaurants and access the beach very quickly. I wanted to be close enough to drive to the Tulum Ruins but also get off the beaten path a bit to towns where there are fewer tourists. Even the local woman who taught my cooking class, also set up by Abbie, commented on how I was on the best cross streets in Playa. Word to the wise, listen to what she says about the car rentals and insurance — I feel like I got the best deal with no surprises. I typically like to plan trips myself but my boyfriend and I are incredibly busy right now so feeling seen and heard about what I like was really important; I just felt very understood about what I, personally, like out of a trip. It was all great but favorite highlights were probably perfect location, every restaurant recommendation was on point, and booking the private cenote was just really special and something I hadn’t experienced before.

I haven’t used a travel agent since the late 90’s, when I decided to use one again, it was because the Yucatan was a bit intimidating to me and I haven’t booked a trip for a large group before. I explained to Abbie that my grandkids and children were very interested in swimming with and seeing sea turtles and swimming in Cenotes. She recommended a boutique hotel called Arkah on the Jungle side of Akumal, it was a perfect location for our priorities. I highly recommend the half day private cenote experience, the swimming with sea turtles excursion, and all her tips in accessing the best spots for beach days. The grand kids loved xcaret as well. It was such a relief to have an awesome family vacation without the pressure of planning it myself. I would definitely recommend using Abbie to anyone visiting the Yucatan, she made the planning easy and the vacation was a huge success!
